| Michael Strausz

Michael Strausz (M.A., Ph.D. University of Washington; B.A. Michigan State University) teaches courses in Asian politics, international relations, and research methodology. His research interest include the relationship between international norms and Japanese domestic politics as well as the role of identity and ideology on politics. His doctoral dissertation focused on international norms regarding the treatment of foreign residents, refugee admissions, and whaling, and he is currently working on projects that deal with naturalization policy, the Genocide Convention, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. He is originally from Michigan, and he enjoys cooking and outdoor activities.
